Nivada Grenchen Chronosport

1970s attitude reborn

Inspired by a Nivada prototype from the 1970s, the modern Chronosport brings vintage attitude into the present with a 38mm case and a 15.7mm profile that gives it undeniable wrist presence. The textured matte black dial is laid out with two sub-counters at 9 and 12 o’clock tracking minutes and running seconds, and featuring interesting Art Deco-inspired typography. A date display at 3 o’clock and a tachymeter scale further increase the functionality of this model. Surrounding the dial is a knurled unidirectional aluminium bezel equipped with both 60-minute and 12-hour markings.

The Chronosport lineup from Nivada Grenchen opens with two core models: one featuring modern white lume, the other using yellow lume to channel vintage appeal. Also available are the Chronosport Mechaqartz models featuring a tri-compax layout and driven by a hybrid movement that combines a mechanical chronograph module with quartz technology for powering the main functions.

Nivada Grenchen Chronosport HIGHLIGHTS

Fueled by a go-anywhere spirit

Powering the Chronosport is the venerable automatic Valijoux 7750 calibre. Safely housed beneath the solid all-steel screw-down caseback, it delivers a healthy 42-hour power reserve to keep pace with daily wear. Nivada Grenchen also equips the watch with an impressive 200m water resistance rating, giving you the freedom to wear this capable chronograph virtually anywhere without hesitation.

The hybrid chronograph done right

The Nivada Chronosport Mechaquartz raises the stakes with a full tri-compax display, placing three subdials in a 12-9-6 configuration, balanced by the date window at 3 o’clock. The familiar 38mm case remain, though the slimmer 13.3mm profile gives it a sharper, more wearable profile. The dial remains crips and highly legible, with a faux-patina lume on the hands and indices adding vintage charm. Beneath it all sits the Seiko VK67, delivers a sweeping chronograph seconds hand that mimics the motion of a traditional mechanical watch. All with the added quartz convenience.
